Born Ramdeen Ramjattan, an aspiring comedian launched his character John Agitation into the public in 1951. Performing mainly at churches, community events and weddings just to add a difference to the line up of familiar performances.

Praise of his talents was spread through word of mouth from one community to the next. So John Agitation became a popular character in social events throughout Trinidad & Tobago around the period of the 1960.
